Rift in Indian Cricket Team, Really?

Mr Dev recently bought a house and Mrs Dev is ready with her set of ideas to decorate the drawing room. Aesthetically, Mrs X thinks higher of her tastes while Mr X isn’t really in agreement on a high-budget makeover.

So, the differences erupt at the domestic front. But can it lead to a public spat? No, not really! Similarly, if a team travelling, staying, eating together for months in a year, differences are bound to crop up.

It’s natural and if it doesn’t happen, it actually abnormal. But, it shouldn’t be named as a rift in the middle of an important tournament like the Champions Trophy. Stories like rift in the team shouldn’t be blown out of proportion.

Seriously, if there was a rift, do you think that India would have won those two practices games against New Zealand and Bangladesh in such grand style? No one is denying the fact that differences don’t happen.

It does happen, but when it comes to national interest, no one would think twice once they are involved at the highest level. Time is right to celebrate an occasion that India is a bowling heavy team after years.

Not many can decipher when was the last time India had such inform pace bowling attack. Right from Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Jasprit Bumrah to Umesh Yadav – all of them are in great form.

So much so that the team doesn’t know whom to drop and whom to include when they take on Pakistan on June 4. Will this again lead to disagreement? It shouldn’t happen because it’s a happy problem for the team.

On the face of it, if a bowler in Mohammad Shami, who has the uncanny ability to take wickets at will, isn’t sure enough to make it to the playing XI, it shows how intense is the completion in this India team.

Stop worrying about disagreement and start the champions on a winning note that too against the arch-rivals.
