India captain MS Dhoni has revealed his plans of next year’s Champions Trophy. Dhoni will be taking part in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, as the Indian team is playing only a handful of ODIs in a buildup to the tournament.
The Champions Trophy will take place in the United Kingdom in June. India will play just eight more limited-overs matches till the tournament. Two against New Zealand and six against England (three ODIs and three T20s).

Dhoni will represent Jharkhand in the domestic competition in a bid to remain match-fit. The Indian captain pointed out the same after India’s win over New Zealand in Mohali.
“To see the number of games available for me this is a five-match series, followed by 3 against England and 2 T20Is or 3. So that is not a lot of limited-overs cricket,” Dhoni pointed out.

“I will go and play the Ranji Trophy one-dayers (Vijay Hazare Trophy for Jharkhand),” he added. “Overall, there is not a lot of cricket and I have to make the most of it. The more deliveries I play the better it is for me.”
Jharkhand is pitted alongside Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Services, Saurashtra, Hyderabad and Jammu and Kashmir in Group D. The Vijay Hazare Trophy will commence next year on February 25.
