India captain MS Dhoni has taken a jibe on the critics, saying that ‘freedom of speech’ is used openly when it comes down to giving opinion about cricket.
The Indian limited-overs captain said people are entitled to express what they think, and in India people use a very liberal approach while commenting on cricket.
“I believe, in India, everyone has an opinion on issues and especially on cricket,” Dhoni said. “There is freedom of expression and everyone is entitled to an opinion.”
“Play like this, play like that, do like this, do like that,” he added. “The problem is cricket looks a bit easier on television than when we play it at the ground.”
Dhoni, who also a holds a honorary rank in the Indian Army, said he is proud to have been playing for India, and will never represent another other nation.
Dhoni said, “If anyone asks me that what would you have liked to do, I would have said: ‘Playing cricket for India will be my first choice. I will never play for any other country’.”
After winning the Asia Cup title, the Indian team is now gearing up for the World T20. The hosts will be starting their campaign against New Zealand on March 15.
