Virat Kohli on MS Dhoni: Indian Captain is the Best Finisher in the Game

It was again the top-order, featuring Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, which steered the Indian team to a clinical win over Bangladesh in the Asia Cup T20 final, ahead of the World T20.

Dhawan made a flowing fifty, while Kohli was again in his element and held the innings together. MS Dhoni, who had promoted himself up the order, finished the game.

Dhoni played like his old self, and finished the game with a massive six over the deep mid-wicket. He showed he still is one of the best finishers in the game.

Kohli also acknowledged the fact that the Indian captain is the best finisher in the game, saying that he finished the game like he always do.

“I think Shikhar (Dhawan) played himself in really nicely,” Kohli said. “My only aim was to keep going at the other end so that the run-rate doesn’t stop.”

“I had to understand my role,” he added. “Once Shikhar got towards the end of his innings, I hit two or three boundaries which released pressure for us.”

“Then MS Dhoni came in and did what he does best,” he concluded. “He is the best finisher in the world. All in all, it was a wonderful game.”
