MS Dhoni Insists on Changing Rising Pune Supergiants’ Composition

Rising Pune Supergiants now have plenty to contemplate after losing their second match of the Indian Premier League to Gujarat Lions.

The Supergiants were hammered by seven wickets, and moreover they lost the match without putting up any fight, and their fielding also didn’t help them either.

RP Singh and Ishant Sharma failed to get early breakthroughs, and after getting a flying start from Brendon McCullum and Aaron Finch, Gujarat Lions registered an impressive win.

“If you give away 60 in the first six overs while defending 160, it will always be difficult,” MS Dhoni said. “I think we need to look at the composition of our side.”

Earlier, captain Dhoni helped the Supergiants in reaching a competitive total, after Ravindra Jadeja bowled some tight overs in the final stage of the innings.

Dhoni finished with an unbeaten 10-ball 22, featuring one six and three boundaries. The Supergiants captain smashed Dwayne Bravo for 20 runs in the final over.

Faf du Plessis, Kevin Pietersen and Ajinkya Rahane also played swift innings for the Supergiants, but their innings lost momentum after losing quick wickets in the middle-overs.

They lost well-set du Plessis and Steve Smith in a space four balls and eventually ended up making 20-15 runs short of what could have been a winning total.
