The captain of Rising Pune Supergiants, MS Dhoni has reached yet another milestone in this already decorated career in his side’s second game of the IPL 2016.
Dhoni has completed 3000 runs in the Indian Premier League, and has become seventh batsmen to achieve the feat. He now has 3008 IPL runs in 131 matches.
The Supergiants skipper had 15 half-centuries to his name in the most popular T20 league, and is now only behind Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Robin Uthappa and Chris Gayle.
Dhoni made a 10-ball 22 against Gujarat Lions in the last game at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, smashing Dwayne Bravo for 20 in the final over.
His effort, however, went in vain as his side lost the match by seven wickets. This was Supergiants’ first defeat in this year’s Indian Premier League.
Dhoni had spent eight season as a captain of now defunct Chennai Super Kings, and still is the most successful skipper in the history of the tournament.
The former CSK captain has two Indian Premier League titles to his name, alongwith two Champions League T20 trophies.
He is now captaining Sanjiv Goenka-owned Rising Pune Supergiants team, which is playing its first season of the tournament.
