India’s tour to Zimbabwe might not be a tour like England, Australia or South Africa, but still it has its own challenges, according to captain MS Dhoni.
Dhoni will be in-charge of the team featuring only youngsters, as the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has decided not to send senior players on the tour.
The captain, meanwhile, feels that getting the right playing combination on the tour will be the biggest challenge. Dhoni pointed out that there are plenty of players with which he will be playing for the first time.
“I think it will be a very different experience,” Dhoni said. “The reason being that you keep playing with almost the same group of players. So you almost know the roles and responsibilities and what each players’ strengths are.”
“There will be quite a few players in this bilateral series with whom I’ll be playing for the first time,” he added. “So, I have to quickly assess their strengths.”
“At the same time (see) according to the team composition what is the best possible slot and best possible manner in which each individual can be utilised,” he further said. “These will be the challenges.”
