Currently, Karnataka opener KL Rahul is the only player in the setup, who is part of all three India squads – T20, ODIs and Tests. He is currently in Zimbabwe for a six-match limited-overs series, and then will be heading to West Indies for a four-match Test series.
Rahul, meanwhile, is concentrating on stamping his mark in the shorter formats of the game, having already made a name in the Test cricket, after scoring a couple of overseas centuries as an opener.
“Not going to worry about Test matches going to Zimbabwe,” Rahul said. “This is going to be my first one-day series with the Indian team so I will be looking to focus on doing well there and trying to figure out how I could be successful in Zimbabwe as well.”
KL Rahul is drafted into the India’s limited-overs squad on the back of an impressive IPL season with Royal Challengers Bangalore. The opener is looking forward for a successful outing in the Blue Jersey, without worrying about the conditions in Zimbabwe.
“Honestly, I don’t know how the wickets are going to behave in Zimbabwe till we are there,” he added. “We have a couple of days before the first ODI and I will try to go out and assess the conditions, read the wicket and speak to people who have gone there earlier than me.”
