The BCCI has announced women’s team for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier. Mithali Raj will lead the 14-member squad in the tournament that will take place in Colombo from February 3.

The Indian selectors have not made any changes in the squad that whitewashed West Indies in November. Only Mona Meshram has failed to make the cut in the Mithali-led squad.

“I am actually happy that there are no changes. We are coming from a very successful one-day series,” Mithali said. “It means that the girls, whoever got the opportunity, have done well in three games.”

“I don’t think there is any chance to change or get in any new faces, especially for qualifiers which is so important.”

India missed the direct qualification by a whisker. They, however, are the top contenders among the ten teams to reach the main round in England. A recent series win over the Windies will also boost their confidence.

ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier Team: Mithali Raj (c), Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, MD Thirush Kamini, Veda Krishnamurthy, Devika Vaidya, Sushma Verma (wk), Jhulan Goswami, Shikha Pandey, Sukanya Parida, Poonam Yadav, Ekta Bisht, Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Deepti Sharma
