The former Australia and Chennai Super Kings batsman Mike Hussey is appointed as the batting coach for the CSK team for the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League. Michael Hussey who is also known as Mr. Cricket was the part of the franchise from 2008 to 2013 and in 2014 he was in Mumbai Indians team and in 2015 he was back in Chennai Super Kings. Hussey was the third highest scorer for CSK with 2213 runs from 64 games at an impressive average of 40.98%. He also won the “Orange Cap” in IPL 2013 for scoring highest runs.
Hussey said “I am very excited about returning back to CSK as a batting coach and working with team so that I can help out to bring the best out of the players and also help to bring huge success to this franchise”. He added-“ I have many good friends in Chennai and also have good memories as a player. Now I am excited about giving back to the franchise by trying to help the next generation of CSK players”.
The Director of CSK Mr. K.George John said that-“ It’s really nice to have Hussey back as coach since he has played for us and posses a keen cricketing brain and also he said that he will be huge asset for the franchise and earlier also he was of great help in mentoring the younger players”.
