India women finished the three-match T20I series on a winning note with a three-wicket win against New Zealand in Bangalore. Having conceded the series, the hosts restricted the White Ferns to 126 for eight and then chased down the target with an over to spare.

After stand-in captain Jhulan Goswami elected to field in the last game of the tour, Ekta Bisht accounted for Rachel Priest in the third over with 26 runs on the board. Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine then added 33 for the second wicket until Rajeshwari Gayakwad ended the partnership with the wicket of the latter.

Poonam Yadav followed up with the wicket of the New Zealand captain couple of overs later. Left on 76 for three, the visitors’ line-up suffered a middle-order collapse and were reduced to 116 for eight.

Chasing the modest total, India lost Smriti Mandhana to Morna Neilsen in the first over with five runs on the board. However, Latika Kumar joined Vanitha VR in building a platform of 45 runs before being sent back by Kasperek. Broadmore then accounted for Vanitha and soon followed up with the wicket Harmanpreet Kaur to leave India on 73 for four.

However, Veda Krishnamurthy kept the team in the reckoning with a quick-fire 19-ball 34 while Patil contributed 22. Devine castled Krishnamurthy and later sent back Patil while Goswami was removed by Kasperek.

With Goswami and Patil returning to the pavilion with score on 120, S Verma and Bisht took the team across the line.
