The reigning Indians Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knights Riders registered a stunning three-wicket win over former champions Chennai Super Kings.
Cameos from CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and all-rounder Dwayne Bravo helped Super Kings to get past 150 runs mark but that proved insufficient, as last bursts from Ryan ten Doeschate and Andre Russell stole the victory.
KKR’s top-order crumbled like a cookie as pacer Ashish Nehra came to the fore for the Kings by dismissing four batsmen. But an 80-run stand for the sixth wicket between Russell and Doeschate sealed the win for the IPL champs.
