The mystery remains unsolved! There are not many modern spinners in the world cricket today that have created an impact like Sunil Narine.
Be it Ravichandran Ashwin or Ajantha Mendis, to name a few the teams have decoded all of them but the crack of West Indies’ mystery spinner Narine is yet to be found.
Narine, who is contracted with the Indian Premier League side Kolkata Knight Riders, again wretched havoc to guide KKR to yet another win in the tournament.
The Lions looked completely clueless against the West Indian, who ripped through the batting order and restricted them to a moderate total.
“Sunil Narine is a magician, his name should be Magician Narine,” former Indian skipper Kapil Dev said about the off-spinner.
Narine picked three wickets in a format, in which the batsmen are programmed for slam-bang-hit-out-of-the-park stuff; he finished with magical figures of four overs, one maiden, nine for three.
The Windies spinner, who dismissed Saad Nasim, Umar Siddiq and Asif Raza in a space of five runs, invited praise from Ahmed Shehzad as well.
Narine has been instrumental in Knight Riders’ two IPL triumphs and the 26-year-old is capable of adding CLT20 feather in Gautam Gambhir’s hat.
