KL Rahul Seizing Slightest of Opportunities Coming His Way

KL Rahul has made his mark in the limited opportunities he has got so far with the Indian team. The Indian opener scored his third overseas ton in only his sixth Test with the Indian team.

He has scored all three of his centuries on different pitches and conditions. The first one came against Australia, second against Sri Lanka and now the latest against the Caribbean outfit.

The Karnataka-born is continuing to enjoy a good season with the bat. Rahul was among the leading run scorers in the IPL. He scored century on ODI debut. Now he has a hundred on his first match in the Caribbean Islands.

“Personally, I am really happy,” KL Rahul said. “It is never easy to play a couple of games 7-8 months ago and play the next after whenever it is. The last game I played was in Sri Lanka around this time last year.”

“When I wore the white jersey yesterday, all I wanted to do was just go out and perform. Sitting out and not playing a lot of games makes you hungry,” he added.

“You try and get as many runs as you can and try to make sure you never sit out. Those are the things you have to go through as a cricketer and in a team sport as only 11 can play. I am really happy with the way I batted today.”

Rahul made 158, which is also his highest Test score. His innings has given India a healthy lead over the West Indians. He made crucial partnerships with Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli on his way to a record century.
