If the principles of natural justice are to be followed, India should go into the 4th Test with more or less the same playing XI. The only possible change is, perhaps, the entry of opener KL Rahul in place of Karun Nair.

Otherwise, the team is all set and ready to conquer England. The hosts are already two-up and only need one win from last two Test. The good thing is that India aren’t ready to leave anything for the Chennai game.

Captain Virat Kohli and his men want to win the next game and seal the Test series in Mumbai itself. But time has come for the team to change things for good. Under the tutelage of Anil Kumble, this India team should look to play Tests on sporting tracks.

Of course, Kohli has said that his team won’t be needing turning track to win Test matches at home after the Mohali win. But so far, India haven’t shown the intention to play any of the Test matches on sporting tracks against England.

It’s, therefore, important to walk the talk. Mumbai’s sort of turning pitch is another case on how a sort of turning track in prepared to continue with pressure tactics over the spin-shy England.

Even the next venue, Chennai, doesn’t have reputation of assisting the fast bowlers. So, it’s also important to try out different kinds of pitches to ensure that the law of diminishing return doesn’t catch up with the fans.

Test cricket is important for the players and it has to co-exist along with other formats of the game. But it shouldn’t be at the cost of losing crowd for Test cricket. It’s also our team’s responsibility to play match in different conditions.
