India are getting a strong opponent in WICB XI, as Jermaine Blackwood, Shane Dowrich and Jomel Warrican have played Test cricket for the Windies. India’s aim is to get used to the conditions before the Test series. While, the West Indies Board President XI, led by Leon Johnson, is aiming to impress selectors.

“These matches are important for us, because, you see, places are up for grabs in the Test team,” Johnson said before the match. “Performing against these international teams is always good. Last year, a couple of guys performed against Australia and they made it into the Test team.”
