India vs West Indies Practice Match: Fifties for KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma

Indian batsmen got a good practice on the opening day of the first practice match by adding 258 runs at stumps. Three batsmen – KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma – scored fifties against West Indies Cricket Board President’s XI at St Kitts’ Warner Park.

India vs West Indies Practice Match, Day 2 is scheduled for a 7.30 p.m. IST (10 am local time) start. There will be no live coverage and streaming of the match in India. Indian captain Virat Kohli elected to bat first, and his openers provided a solid start to the visitors. Dhawan and Rahul stitched a 93-run opening partnership. Both Dhawan and Rahul retired after completing their respective fifties.

Cheteshwar Pujara also played a good knock of 34, but captain Kohli failed to make an impressive. The Indian captain made a slow 40-ball 14, and was eventually caught behind. Ajinkya Rahane, too, couldn’t capitalise.

Rohit made an unbeaten fifty, and stitched a 47-run partnership with Wriddhiman Saha. The stylish right-hander then made an unbeaten 45-run partnership with Amit Mishra, who was batting with Rohit at stumps.
