The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has intensified security for the 3rd T20 at the Eden Gardens, after the unpleasant crowd behaviour in the 2nd T20 in Cuttack.

In the last game, a small section of the crowd at the Barabati Stadium threw bottles on the ground owing to which umpires had to stop the play for the safety of players.

However, after a delay of almost 51 minutes, the play was resumed once the organisers emptied the stand from where the bottles were being thrown.

The CAB officials, meanwhile, held a meeting with the Kolkata police commissioner to increase the security for the 3rd T20 and prevent any such mishap during the final game of the three-match series.

“We had a meeting with the top brass of Kolkata Police,” CAB treasurer Biswaroop Dey. “There will be a lot more police officers on duty in the galleries and near the ground so as to avoid any such occurrences. It will be a fool-proof security system.”

For the 3rd T20, there would be a four-tier security system in place near the entry gates, while to monitor crowd movement more cops would be deployed in galleries and various strategic points.
