With about one month left for the World T20 to begin, Australian allrounder Shane Watson has tipped India the team to beat in the tournament.
India will be playing the tournament at home, and in the favorable conditions with the fire power they have, beating the former champions would be mammoth task.
“I think India will be the toughest team because it’s in their home conditions,” Watson said. “They know their conditions better than anyone and have performed well in big events at home.”
“India have a good all-round team, their batting has firepower all the way through, bowling-wise, their spinners are world-class and they have some good quicks.”
Watson, who is currently playing in the Pakistan Super League, called the hosts a balanced squad, having the likes of seamers Ashish Nehra and Jasprit Bumrah.
“Ashish Nehra is bowling really well and (Jasprit) Bumrah has been a great find for them,” Watson concluded. “They have a really well balanced team so I think they will be a big challenge.”
