India have announced a full strength squad for the New Zealand Test series. The series is starting September 22, and the first match will take place at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium.
Virat Kohli’s men are fresh from their Test series win over the West Indies in the Caribbean. They are now set for a grueling season at home. After New Zealand, the Indian team will host England.
The selectors have done just two changes in the team that defeated the West Indies. Pacer Shardul Thakur and allrounder Stuart Binny have failed to make the cut in the 15-member squad.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is retained in the squad. Amit Mishra, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin are also part of the Indian team for the Test series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav are the pacers.
“The selection committee, along with coach and captain, have decided that whoever is be picked will be given a fair amount of chances,” chairman of selectors Sandeep Patil said.
