ICC Test Rankings: Virat Kohli Reaches Career-Best Position

The Indian Test captain Virat Kohli has shoot up to a career-best position in the ICC Test Rankings. Kohli has gained 10 places to go fourth, behind New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson. Steve Smith tops the rankings chart.

Kohli scored 248 runs in Vishakhapatnam against England. He earned 90 rating points, which propelled him up the order. His effort also ensured that the Indian team take a 1-0 lead over England in the five-match series.

Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara has also gained one place, and now ranked ninth, while Ajinkya Rahane is 11th.

The Indian bowlers have also gained considerable places in the latest rankings, after the 2nd Test against England. Pacer Mohammad Shami has reached to his career-best 21st place. He has 572 rating points to his name.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin continues to lead the bowlers’ rankings. He is followed by Sri Lanka’s Rangana Herath, Proteas Dale Steyn, England’s James Anderson and Stuart Broad.

Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja has also gained one place. He is now placed sixth with 795 rating points.
