The Indian selectors have announced a 15-member squad for the first two Tests against England. Allrounder Hardik Pandya has received his maiden Test call. Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir has been retained in the team.
Team India will be without KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma in the series. Rahul injured his hamstring against New Zealand, while Dhawal hurt his thumb. Rohit is sidelined by a thigh injury.

Pacer Ishant Sharma has recovered from the illness and is part of the Test squad. He couldn’t take part in the New Zealand Test series because of chikungunya. Ishant, however, has now recovered completely.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, meanwhile, has recovered from a hamstring injury, but not included in the team. Bhuvi hasn’t played a first-class match since recovering from the injury. Pacer Shardul Thakur has been dropped from the team.
