England have played down any security concerns for their upcoming India tour. The Three Lions said that there are no security issues for their Muslim players – Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid and Zafar Ansari.

There were reports that Pakistan umpire Aleem Dar has been removed from the tour. The International Cricket Council (ICC), however, clarified that he was never slated to officiate in the series.

Reg Dickason, security advisor of the England team, said that the team has no security concerns whatsoever. He added that both Moeen and Rashid have also not expressed any concerns from their side.

“We have no real concerns but we’re certainly aware of the issues Aleem Dar has,” Dickason said.

“I know it was reported that he wasn’t going, that he’d been pulled out, but according to the ICC he’s just been rostered at another event. But Shiv Sena had some issues with Aleem there and went to the BCCI offices.”

“So we’re certainly aware of that but we don’t expect any real issues,” he concluded. “I’ve spoken to him (Moeen) and Adil and they seem ok to me. They haven’t expressed any doubts to me.”

England will start their three-month long India tour with first Test against the hosts in Rajkot. The tour features five Tests, three one-day internationals and three T20 matches.
