Bangladesh proving they aren’t pushovers

After India lost to Bangladesh in the three-match ODI series last month, a crisis like situation was created outside the cricket establishment. The followers of the game were given to believe by a certain section of the media that the heydays of MS Dhoni and his men are as good as over.

While there were others who suggested that losing the ODI series to Bangladesh was the darkest day in Indian cricket history. Undoubtedly, it wasn’t a nice feeling for the players to go down against Bangladesh, but the situation wasn’t bad as it was made out to be.

The media wanted a knee-jerk reaction from board and even projected how the team is a divided house. India had lost the first two matches of the series and came out all guns blazing in the third ODI.

In the end, India lost the series by. 2-1 margin and it was only Drcricket7, which had highlighted on how India lost to a better side. The India team was jaded, but Bangladesh were extremely confident after beating Pakistan at home.

They were right on top of their game and made full advantage of their home conditions. They batted aggressively, bowled immaculately and fielded with a spectacular level of enthusiasm. It was a different Bangladesh side.

On Wednesday, the same Bangladesh team entered a historic phase by beating another top international side. This time it was South Africa. This was their fourth successive ODI series win at home.

More than ODI rankings and reputation of the Bangladeshi cricket team, it’s a reality which all big teams will have to accept that Bangladesh aren’t the pushovers anymore.

They are a good side and not scared of coming out of their shell and showing their aggression. Their real test will be when they come out of their own den. But till then, it job well done Bangladesh!
