The biggest challenge for Team India in the five-match ODI series, starting today, will be to get the combinations right and remain competitive against the World Champions Australia.

One of the fastest and the bounciest pitches in the world, WACA, will pose a big challenge for the young and inexperienced Indian team in the opening match of the series.

The Australia vs India 1st ODI will be played at the WACA, Perth. The game is scheduled for a 08:50 IST (11:20 local | 03:20 GMT) start.

The live streaming of the practice match is available at the Cricket Australia’s website HERE and at Hotstar HERE. The live score updates of the match are available HEREHERE & HERE.

“I feel to start off well is very important,” MS Dhoni said. “It’s important for us to do the small things right. I think it is a bilateral series where lot of new individuals will get a chance.”

Australia have already announced their playing XI, and they would be giving heading with an all-pace-attach, with Joel Paris and Scott Boland making their debuts for the hosts.

Despite not having the likes of Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc and Ryan Harris, Australia have a promising pace attack, featuring Josh Hazlewood and James Faulkner.

Seeing India’s prowess of playing the short balls, and that too in bouncy Australian conditions, they would definitely be tested by some sweet chin music at the WACA.

India, meanwhile, have their won problems as Mohammad Shami has been ruled out of the tour, while Ishant Sharma couldn’t take part in the practice matches.

The fitness of Ishant will a key for India, and if he is fit, he will be drafted into the playing XI straight away. Ishant is India’s most experience bowler, and also in fine form.

In the absence of Shami, MS Dhoni is left with no choice apart from handing young Barinder Sran the debut in the opening match of the series.

Sran bowled impressively in the practice matches and he would be aiming to continue his fine form, while Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Manish Pandey are also in fray of a spot.

Australia playing XI: David Warner, Aaron Finch, Steve Smith (c), George Bailey, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh, Mathew Wade (wk), James Faulkner, Joel Paris, Scott Boland and Josh Hazlewood.

India playing XI (possible): Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Barinder Sran and Umesh Yadav.
