With scores like 0, 13, 12, 15 – it’s actually tough to associate them with Virat Kohli. The best in the world has struggled to find his feet against quality spin bowling of Australia’s Steve O’Keefe and Nathan Lyon.
It was a rare sight to see Kohli’s struggling at the crease. In reality his fans are used to seeing exactly the opposite. On his day, Kohli is absolutely ruthless and a hero who has emerged over the years to bat his way through crisis.
In the face of adversity, we have always known Kohli to deliver the good. And, before the 3rd Test against Australia begins at the home turf of MS Dhoni’s Ranchi, all eyes would be on him to come back to form.

By his own admission, the Australians were ‘too obsessed’ with how to stop Kohli from scoring. This somewhat reminding us of eighties when almost the entire opposition used to man-mark Argentina’s Diego Maradona
Kohli would be hoping to do the same like Maradona. It’s true that Kohli is happy and even don’t mind the fact that the Aussies are focussing too much on him while his other teammates are escaping their attention.

But deep down Kohli would be itching to get past a good score to get his confidence back. Therefore, it can’t get bigger than the Ranchi game. The stage is all set and with scored levelled at 1-1.
India are ofcourse riding high after a convincing win in Bengaluru. Still, the 3rd Test of the series could be anyone’s game, especially, the toss may again plan an important role.
But the most interesting bit would be to see whether Kohli would be successful or not. With no Mitchell Starc, India would also be quite relieved and it should reflect on their cricket this time from the word go.
