Shaun Marsh, Mitchell Johnson to return home for Windies tour preparation

The Kings XI Punjab are already out of play-off contentions and have allowed their star players, Shaun Marsh and Mitchell Johnson to return home.

A statement released by the Kings XI informed that both Marsh and Johnson have requested to return home to prepare for the West Indies tour and the team has granted permission to them.

“Two of our players Shaun Marsh and Mitchell Johnson have been granted permission to return home at their request for preparation of the upcoming West Indies Tour,” the statement reads.

“While both the players have been of great significance to the team and contributed immensely, we respect our players’ decisions. We have a fine line up in place and are hopeful of a good performance in the upcoming matches.”

Australia are to travel the Caribbean for a two-match Test series, beginning June 3 at the Windsor Park, Dominica. The second Test would be played at the Sabina Park, Jamaica from June 11.
