Saeed Ajmal confident of making World Cup cut

Troubled Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal is confident of making the 2015 World Cup cut, despite been suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for illegal bowling action.

Ajmal was reported for a suspect action during the first Test against Sri Lanka and went through an action assessment test in Brisbane National Cricket Center, which he failed.

The ICC in a statement informed that all deliveries of the Pakistan bowler are exceeding the 15 degree limit. Despite facing a setback, Ajmal said he will come out clean, when his medical condition will be taken into account.

Ajmal suffered an accident and according to the off-spinner he also has a natural bend in his arm, due to which he failed the test. In 2009, Ajmal’s action came under scrutiny but he passed the test as the ICC took his medical condition under consideration.

“They’re yet to consider my medical reports. Once they do it I am sure there shouldn’t be any problem,” Ajmal said. “If one has a medical problem what can he do? Even earlier it was more than 15 degrees only because my arm has a natural bend.”

“I am 100% positive and looking forward for the best and by the Grace of Allah I will be in the World Cup XI,” he added.

The Faisalabad-born is free to appeal against the suspension but he will miss the series against Australia in UAE.
