New Zealand have arrived for a two-month long tour yesterday in India. The Blackcaps will commence their tour with a three-match Test series, starting September 22, followed by five one-dayers.
The Blackcaps are currently in Delhi for training sessions and acclimatizing themselves with the conditions. They will then play a three-day practice match against Mumbai XI on Friday.

“It’s two extremes,” New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi said. “We’ve come from the pace of South Africa and now we’re going to the spin bowling of India. “It’s how you want to challenge yourself as an international cricketer.”
“To be honest it can’t get any better than this,” he added. “It’s going to be a great test for some players that are really good adapters of the game, so hopefully we can keep on doing that here.”

The odds are stacked against New Zealand in the upcoming series. They haven’t won a Test series in India yet. This time, too, it is going to be a more than just a battle with conditions for them in the whole tour.
“We just came back from South Africa so the pace was obviously something we had to deal with over there,” Sodhi said. “Over here it’s probably going to be a lot slower and maybe take a bit of turn.”
