BCCI Umpiring Panel Worried Over Vineet Kulkarni Umpiring

Some of the members of BCCI umpiring panel were concerned after the Indian team management lodged a formal complaint against Vineet Kulkarni for his below-par umpiring. According to BCCI sources, even the board officials were “quite surprised” with the quality of umpiring in the series, so far.

It all began during the 1st T20 game in Dharamsala when Vineet Kulkarni twice turned down lbw appeal against South Africa’s JP Duminy, who later went on to win the match for his team.

Kulkarni’s umpiring again made a glaring mistake on Sunday’s 1st ODI in Kanpur, when he adjudged Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan leg-before-wicket. The ball was clearly missing the stumps.

According to the insiders in the board, Vineet Kulkarni can’t be dropped from the panel unceremoniously after two bad games. Sources said that if the Maharashtra based umpire continues to make mistake like this, the board will have no option other than removing him from the ICC panel.

A member of the umpiring committee even pointed out how he was taken out of the Ranji final match after complaints of bad umpiring were reported during the semifinal match.

“If he continues to make mistake like this, he will surely going to face the music. As of now, he may be getting less number of matches. He may have to get back to the domestic games to prove his credibility once more,” a BCCI source told Drcricket7 on Wednesday.
