The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli has been under scrutiny for meeting girlfriend Anushka Sharma during a match against the Delhi Daredevils in Bangalore on Sunday and violating the rules.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), however, has played down controversy surrounding the incident, saying all rules will be followed and the investigation of the incident is on.

Kohli was seen with Anushka in the VIP box during a rain-interruption in Bangalore against the Daredevils, violating the anti-corruption policy of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

BCCI secretory, Anurag Thakur informed that the anti-corruption unit is doing its job and all measures are taken, as per the rules, irrespective of the player.

“According to IPL guidelines, the anti-corruption unit issues a notice and they demand explanations. We did whatever we needed to,” Thakur said. “No player is bigger than the game. Whatever the rules of the game say, the investigation happen according to it.”
