Kumble insisted that playing against England is a different ball game altogether and the team’s preparations are in full swing. The first Test will start on November 9 in Rajkot.
“It feels good that it is the start of a new Test series,” Kumble said. “We are playing a 5-match Test series after a long time in India. The preparations are going on in full swing.”

Players like KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are out because of injuries. Kumble termed missing his key players as unfortunate. He, however, added that it is the part of the game.
“Obviously, we are a bit disappointed with some of the injuries but that is part and parcel of the game. I really feel sad for Rohit Sharma because he was doing really well in the Test format.”
“It is unfortunate that he misses out of this series,” the Indian team head coach concluded.
