India pacer Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the UAE clash owing to a knee injury. Team India will lock horns with the Gulf-nation on February 28 at the WACA.

Team India’s media manager, RN Baba informed that Shami has a mild knee problem and the team management is not taking any risks seeing the long tournament ahead.

“Mohammed Shami got mild left-knee problem and had ultrasound guided injection yesterday,” Baba informed. “For his long term management perspective he won’t be available for tomorrow match against UAE.”

Shami has already taken six wickets in the World Cup so far, against Pakistan and South Africa. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is likely to replace him in the playing XI.
