Former India captain Ravi Shastri may continue as the director of Team India for the South African series at home. According to BCCI sources, the board was in a mind to appoint a full-fledged coach before the home series, but due to time constraints the bigwigs may decide against it.
Drcricket7 was the first to report about the due extension of the support staff after India won the Test series in Sri Lanka after 22 years. However, sources have told Drcricket7 that Ravi Shastri and the coaching staff are also looking for a long-term contract with the board, rather than getting a piece-meal.
Sources also suggested that the coaching staff are looking for a minimum two-year contract with the board. When Drcricket7 tried to establish contact with the BCCI officials, none of them were available for comments.
