Ravi Shastri to continue as Team Director of the Indian cricket team, while the term of assistant coaches has been extended by the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI).
Based on the recommendations of the Cricket Advisory Committee, the BCCI has extended the appointment of Ravi Shastri as the Team director of Team India till the World T20 2016.
Acknowledging the performance of the Indian Cricket team and the efforts of the coaching staff in recent times, the Cricket Advisory Committee endorsed the extension of their tenure.
The BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya and honorary secretary Anurag Thakur appreciated the work done by the coaching staff and accepted the decision unanimously.
Along with Shastri, the committee also approved the extension of assistant coaches till the World T20 2016:
- Sanjay Bangar (Assistant Coach- Batting)
- B. Arun (Assistant Coach- Bowling)
- R. Sridhar (Assistant Coach- Fielding)
The Cricket Advisory Committee of the BCCI consists of former India captains Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, former Test Cricketer VVS Laxman, Jagmohan Dalmiya and Anurag Thakur.
