Batsmen continued to make merry at the Sydney Cricket Ground as youngster KL Rahul and skipper Virat Kohli made fine centuries on the third day of the fourth Test against Australia today.

KL Rahul batted with grit and determination, while Kohli was at his usual best and scored his fourth century of the series. Kohli, in particular, took the opposition on and thrashed Australian bowlers all over the park during his unbeaten innings.
Rahul, who failed in the first Test, made most of the dropped chances and helped India recover from early jolts. He made a 97-run stand with Rohit and helped the team recover, after losing Murali Vijay in the first over of the innings.
After the departure of Rohit, Rahul kept his composure and made a 141-run stand with Kohli to put India in a good position. He, however, got out while attempting a pull off Mitchell Starc, who completed a catch on his own bowling.
Australia, meanwhile, sensed an opening when they got Ajinkya Rahane and Suresh Raina on successive deliveries. Shane Watson dismissed both batsmen to put India in a spot of bother.
Kohli, however, held one end firmly and continue to score runs, along with Wriddhiman Saha. They made an unbeaten 46-run partnership for the sixth wicket to recover Team India from a peculiar position.
India finished the day on 342/5 with Kohli (140 not out) and Saha (14 not out) in the middle, trailing by 230 runs in the first innings, with two more days still left in the encounter.
