Six months ago, Virat Kohli could do no wrong. He dispatched the best of deliveries with utmost ease. Batting looked amazingly easy for the Delhi cricketer. But since his Test century in Antigua against the West Indies, Kohli looked a little scratchy and failed to make good scores.

It was combination of luck coupled with some bad shot selections, which saw Kohli losing out on scoring big runs. However, the second innings forty odd score boosted him well.

In Indore, it came out in full flow. Kohli made his second Test century. This was also Kohli’s second century as the Test captain of India. His tally of six centuries as captain includes three vs Australia and one each vs West Indies, Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

With the series already won by India, there is little interest in the last Test game over the Kiwis. But a good crowd and Kohli’s double century have actually made a lot of difference. It was perfect start to a Test, which had little in offing.

Close on his heels, Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara too played crucial knock for their team. Rahane also made a big contribution in India’s total. Whether the visitors would make a comeback into this Test match is anyone’s guess
