Despite India’s series-leveling win in Chennai, there were concerns among fans regarding the fitness of Virat Kohli, who was seen battling with cramps on his way to a match-winning, magnificent hundred.

The Delhi dasher later didn’t come out to field, and Team India had to field Ambati Rayudu as a substitute fielder in the entire South Africa batting.

But, the good news is, Virat Kohli is fit for the series decider to be played in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on October 25.

The stylish right-hander informed that on physio’s advice he opted not to field, as it could have resulted in a muscle tear, which would have sidelined him for a month atleast.

“Yes, I am fine. The body stopped cramping when I came inside in the second innings, but when I was on the field; it felt a bit dicey,” Virat Kohli informed.

“So the physio told me not to take a chance which could result into a muscle tear which might take a month and a half to heal.”

“I didn’t want to take a chance because there is a big Test series coming up and there is a big game in Mumbai as well,” he concluded. “I am going to be 27 and I got to start being smart about my body now.”

The five-match ODI series between India and South Africa are all square after the men in blue defeated the Proteas by 35 runs in Chennai.
