Team India Under Pressure to Remain Alive in ODI Series

After losing successive games in Perth and Brisbane, Team India is under tremendous pressure to save the five-match ODI series against Australia.

With a lack of experience and variation to bowl on flat decks, the Indian bowlers have been sent on a leather hunt twice in the series.

Ahead of the 3rd ODI in Melbourne on Sunday, the visiting bowlers are still clueless on how to come out of this lean patch. Their lack of confidence is also affecting the team.

The likes of Rohit Sharma, the centurion in last two games, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and captain MS Dhoni are wondering what would be the best total to put Australia on the mat.

More than the second string Australian attack, which has also conceded runs in last two matches, it more about India’s lack of depth in the bowling department.

Unlike the experienced campaigners from the past and present, the Indian bowlers can be disintegrated easily. The fact that you can still come back strong after a bad over or an ordinary spell is something India need to believe.

It is only this self-belief that can help the team at the hour of crisis. To keep the series alive, India also need to take those catches, which haven’t managed to grab in Brisbane.

You can’t have butter fingers and let the game slip out of your hands. Most importantly, India need that extra effort on the field, which may take them over the winning line.
