Team India sealed the three-match series in style, beating Australia by 27 runs in the 2nd T20 at the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The spinners once again delivered for MS Dhoni, and mounted enough pressure in the middle overs to take the game away from Australia.
India posted an imposing 184 runs on the board, thanks to fifties from Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. In reply, Australia could only manage to score 157.
Both Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin were impressive with the ball, they knotted Australia when they were required to up the ante.
Dhoni used his bowlers to perfection and rotated them pretty well. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah again had a good game and he finished with a couple of wickets.
“It was a big target,” Shane Watson said. “We made a good start but lost our way. Their spinners are very very skilled. Even when it is not turning they are effective.”
“They play a lot of T20 cricket. Aaron Finch has hurt his hamstring, the run-out made it worse. He is getting it assessed. Sunday is very important.”
“At the moment we are testing out a few players, which makes it challenging, but it is also an opportunity for guys to put their hand up,” Watson concluded.
