Team India is slated to play South Africa in the four-match series starting November 5 in Mohali.

Officially, the Indian batsmen were supposed to have their nets from Tuesday to prepare for the 1st Test match against South Africa from November 5 Test in Mohali. But the team management had other plans.

According to BCCI sources, the management informed the local cricket association (Punjab Cricket Association) that some of top Indian batsmen would be the hitting the nets on Monday itself.

Sources also said that the Indian team was supposed to reach Mohali in different batches before hitting the nets on Tuesday.

But, Test captain Virat Kohli and few of his teammates did not want to waste their time sitting in the hotel room and wait for the rest of the team. “So, the team management took the decision to hit the nets on Monday itself,” a team source informed.

Meanwhile, the South African team had their regular session on Monday morning after arriving in Mohali on Sunday. “The Proteas came to do their regulation net session at nine in the morning till one in the afternoon,” another source added.
