In the entire series, South Africa proved to be a better side than India, despite losing on two occasions, and they maintained it in Mumbai to clinch the series in style.

South Africa outplayed Team India in all departments, and handed them a thumping defeat at the Wankhede Stadium, to win the ODI series 3-2 after winning the T20I series.

Batting first on a belter, South Africa posted 348 on the board, and on any day chasing a mammoth total like this was always going to be a gigantic task for the Indian team.

India, however, tried putting a fight with Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane, who went to score fifties, but at the end it proved to be too bigger a task for either of them.

The hosts could only manage to score while chasing and were bundled inside 36 overs, as South Africa registered a thumping 214-run win in the series-decider.

Earlier, South Africa batsmen hammered the Indian bowlers all over the park, with Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers scoring centuries, while David Miller giving the final touch.

AB de Villiers, in particular, butchered the Indian pacers, while Faf du Plessis scored his first century on the tour while battling with cramps and showed no mercy to the spinners.

After setting an imposing total on the board, South Africa came out firing and got early wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, as unlike their Indian counterparts they hit the right areas.

Kagiso Rabada and Dale Steyn run through the Indian batting order, while Imran Tahir cleaned up the lower-order.
