Soumya Sarkar calls Bangladesh favourites against India

Bangladesh batsman Soumya Sarkar feels Bangladesh are favorites against India in the forthcoming series, starting June 10 with a one-off Test match in Fatullah.

The hosts recently thumped Pakistan when they toured Bangladesh recently, and the Tigers feel they can repeat the feat against India as well.

“To me Bangladesh are favourites,” Sarkar said. “If we can continue our good form, then good result should come our way.”

Sarkar has put his eyes over the opening match of the series and looking to make the opportunity count. The Bangladesh batsman said he is mentally preparing himself for the longest version of the game.

“I already started preparations to become a good Test player,” Sarkar insisted. “In the first Test against Pakistan, I could not capitalise on good starts in both the innings and I also failed to do anything significant in the second Test.”

“But after that I began trying to mentally prepare myself for the longest version of the game,” he added. “I started with how to understand when to leave the ball.”
