Royal Challengers look to repeat Kotla-show against Daredevils

Virat Kohli

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are emerging out to be a very dangerous side as league matches of the IPL gets over on Sunday. They are anxious to win every time they take the field, filled with explosive batsmen, can boast of having the best fast bowler in Mitchell Starc and led by an aggressive captain in Virat Kohli. All put together, they are indeed a very potent side and who knows it better than the Delhi Daredevils team.

Last time, both these teams met at Feroz Shah Kotla, RCB had destroyed the Daredevils by 10 wickets and it was one-sided game from the start to finish. So, it will be sort of challenge for Delhi to stop RCB from progressing further in the IPL. The good thing about the Daredevils is that they have won their last match against the Chennai Super Kings and the team is upbeat after that win. Against RCB, they have nothing to lose and will be playing for pride.

However, RCB are not going to settle for anything less than a win. They are desperate to repeat their previous match show against Delhi, as their target is to finish the league on a high as one of the top teams. Can they do it? RCB have won all their last five matches against Delhi. The overall record is equally impressive. Out of 14 matches in total, RCB have come out as the winners on nine occasions.

Clearly, RCB have the edge over Delhi. But in a game like T20 nothing can be predicted in advance. It was only recently the Kings XI Punjab defeated the explosive RCB during a home game in Mohali. And who knows what is in store for Delhi, as they sign off from this season after this game?

With Delhi’s ace pacer Zaheer Khan bowling at his best form, the battle against RCB openers – Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli – will be an interesting one. Ultimately, it all boils down how the Delhi bowlers make in count against the overpowering RCB batting line-up at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore on Sunday afternoon.
