Rising Pune Supergiants Trying to Find Best Combination: Stephen Fleming

After four successive defeats, Rising Pune Supergiants are looking down the barrel, as their hopes of reaching the knockout stage is shrinking.

Interestingly, Pune skipper MS Dhoni, who doesn’t like to change the playing XI, is making changes in almost every game, and is yet to find a winning combination.

The injury of Kevin Pietersen, and misfiring of bowlers like Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin, have also not done anything good to Pune.

Stephen Fleming, coach of the Supergiants, acknowledged that they haven’t found a stable playing XI, while hoping that a few wins will change his team’s fortunes.

“As a new team we are trying to develop a culture and some camaraderie, it does take a lot more work,” Fleming said. “So we are working hard but it’s tough.”

“We are just trying to find a combination,” he added. “Because we are a new team, we are trying to understand what combinations will work.”

“It’s not ideal but if we win 2 or 3 games in a row we probably will settle down,” Fleming concluded. “We are conscious about it and are just working on the combinations that will give us the results we need.”

The Supergiants are on a must-win situation now. They have nine matches remaining, and they need to win atleast seven to reach the knockouts.
