Ravindra Jadeja once again proved his worth as one of the best spinners in the country. On a day when India need breakthrough the New Zealand batting desperately, Jadeja rose to the occasion and claimed a five-wicket haul. He not only bowled with a disciplined, but also emerged as the most economical bowler of lot.
It was on expected lines. In fact, Drcricket7 was the only website, which talked about how Jadeja could be the danger man for the New Zealand team after he displayed great form in the Duleep Trophy. The nature of the impact was just the same in the historic 500th Test match against New Zealand.
Right now, things have come to such a pass that when the Indian team management would write the team sheet, Jadeja’s name should come first in the spinners’ list. Purely on form, Jadeja is ahead of other competitors.
India also have a reason to celebrate that R Ashwin’s strong performance too. He showed a class of his own. The fact that he is also one of the top bowlers in the country was again at display in Kanpur. Yes, the pitch was helpful for the spinners and all that, still you have to bowl and make things happen.
Both Jadeja and Ashwin deserve credit for their performances. Who know? Another similar performances from the Indian spinners in the second innings could end all New Zealand hope. That will be a perfect way to end the all-important Test match!
