Parthiv Patel Retained for Mumbai Test; Wriddhiman Saha Still Recovering

Parthiv Patel will continue keeping wickets for the Indian team in the upcoming 4th Test in Mumbai. He now has another chance to impress the team management, after making a handy contribution in the Mohali Test.

Meanwhile, India’s first-choice Wriddhiman Saha is still recovering from a thigh injury. The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has confirmed in a statement that the medical team has advised Saha to take rest.

BCCI in the statement informed: The BCCI medical team has confirmed that wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha is still recuperating from the strain in his left thigh, which he sustained during the second Test match at Vizag. As a precautionary measure, Saha has been advised rest.

Saha suffered the injury in Vizag, and subsequently missed the 3rd Test in Mohali. He could also miss the last Test of the five-match series in Chennai, because of team’s selection policy for injured players.

Parthiv, meanwhile, has impressed everyone with his comeback. He gave the Indian team a solid start in both innings, and made an unbeaten fifty in the second innings. The Mumbai Test starts December 8.
