Pakistan is set to welcome cricket once again with a T20 series against World XI. The country haven’t hosted an international event from the last nine years, after a terrorist attack on Sri Lankan cricket team.

Najam Sethi, Pakistan Cricket Board chief, confirmed that the board has got a go-ahead from the government. The three-match T20 series will take place in Lahore. It will start from September 10 and last for four days.

“This is a very big thing,” Sethi said. “September, October and November are big months. It’s a big agenda, we need your prayers and we will open the doors and international teams will come.”

“The Punjab government has given us the signal and preparations are in full swing,” he added.

According to reports, the government is providing a presidential level security for the series in Lahore. But, the idea of hosting matches in other cities, such as Karachi, has been rejected as of now.

“I have the desire to take some games out of Lahore and host them in Karachi,” Sethi said. “But everyone I speak to reject that idea. They tell me that we’ve succeeded in hosting something well in Lahore so keep that going.”
