Pakistan finally tasted success on Bangladesh soil, beating the hosts by 328 runs at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, on the fourth day of the second Test in Mirpur.

The opening match of the two-match Test series in Khulna ended in a draw, making this second game the series decider. This was a long awaited win for the visitors, after their World Cup exit in Australia.

Earlier, Pakistan were swept aside by Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series and one-off T20 match. The Tigers also demonstrated a strong performance in the first Test as well and managed to draw it.

In the first innings of the second Test, Pakistan demonstrated a strong batting performance, posting 557. Azhar Ali struck a double-century, while Younis Khan and Asad Shafiq scored fluent hundreds.

There was always a scoreboard pressure on the hosts and they eventually succumbed to it without even putting a fight. Shakib Al Hasan, however, tried to anchor the innings and remained unbeaten, but he was a lone fighter.

Bangladesh could only manage to post 203 on the board, giving Pakistan a massive first innings lead, which was further stretched in the second innings, with some swift batting performance.

Pakistan made 195 runs in the second innings, adding the first innings lead, Bangladesh required to either chase 550 or survive more than two days to draw the game.

It was always going to be tough for Bangladesh to make a favorable result out of this match, but a gritty batting performance was required from them, just like the opening Test of the series.

Bangladesh, meanwhile, played completely opposite, flirting with away deliveries and playing rash shots, which were not at all required seeing the number of overs left and days to survive.

The hosts, owing to some irresponsible shots, slipped to a defeat on the fourth day of the Test. They could only manage to score 221.
