New Zealand have build an early advantage over Sri Lanka in the Hamilton Test, despite the play came to a premature end owing to rain.

Sri Lanka maintained a healthy scoring rate, but they lost seven crucial wickets, giving New Zealand an upper hand in the contest.

When stumps were called for the day, Sri Lanka were at 264/7, with Angelo Mathews and Dushmantha Chameera in the middle for the Islanders.
